The participants will be introduced to the concepts of public health and how it relates to the different programs of the Department of Education; likewise, the participant will see the interconnection and influence of the different sectors of society, how each affect and contributes to public health, and the role of people both individually and collectively.

Modules included in Part 2 will expose the participants to specific health conditions affecting children in school and in the community. A better understanding of the different risks and causes of such illnesses will aid in the proposal of interventions to prevent these disease conditions from happening and progressing.

Modules on data collection, analysis, reporting, dissemination and utilization are included in Part 4, and more importantly, how these data and information will assist in appropriate and adequate decision making for the school, the community and other stakeholders. Planning, implementation and evaluation of proposals and interventions will likewise enable the participants to use their previously acquired learning.
